Dr Michelle Lynch is the Managing Director and Owner of Enabled Future Limited (EFL) based in the West Midlands, UK. EFL offers consulting, multi-client reports, thought leadership and training aimed at Optimizing Technology Portfolios and ensuring continued profitability of companies over time. Key sectors served include catalysis (EnabledCatalysts), the circular economy (EnabledCircular) and sustainable energy and power (EnabledPower). Key technology areas include catalysts, net zero technologies: carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), circular manufacturing, power-to-x, hydrogen; production, use, reuse and recycling  of fuel cells, electrolysers, lithium-ion batteries, rare earth components and other high-value metals and critical raw materials.   Michelle has over 24 years of experience in the chemical industry including 10 years in consulting teams at Nexant, IHS Markit and Enabled Future Limited and 14 years in Johnson Matthey where she held roles in information science, market research and catalyst development.

Course Summary

The organic chemical industry centres on the relationships between raw materials, intermediates, end products and applications. Basic to these relationships are chemical reactions, and fundamental to the total business is economics. To be able to work successfully within this complex industry requires a combination of practical experience with an understanding of chemistry, markets and economics. The course offers an organised overview of the industry that is essential for the successful operations within it.
